Male Subfertility Assessment
Male subfertility is an important contributor to a couple’s inability to have a family and as a sole factor, it affects about 30% of couples. Additionally, the presence of factors in both the male and female partner may occur in approximately 40% of infertile couples. Men presenting with infertility may also have medical conditions that affect their sperm concentration, motility and/or normal forms. Examples may include varicocele, hernia, hydrocele, small or undescended testes, or testicular cancer.
At Oak Tree Clinic, we have a special interest in male subfertility and will assess men with abnormal semen analysis results and other initial tests. Where necessary, we will arrange further investigations, including scrotal and testicular scan.

Gynaecology Ultrasound
Oak Tree Clinic specialises in gynaecology ultrasound, with our team of experienced specialists on hand to help you assess, diagnose and treat a range of disorders. Our team is made up of consultants, nurse specialists and sonographers who offer 2D scans (basic black and white images), 3D scans (more detailed, coloured scans) and 4D scans (best quality image and video recording). Gynaecology Ultrasound involves a transvaginal ultrasound which includes inserting a probe (ultrasound camera) into the body through the vagina. This internal examination allows the specialist to look more closely at your organs such as your ovaries or womb to help with investigation and diagnosis. During your consultation, a chaperone will be present and your specialist will explain each step to ensure you are comfortable.

Abdominal Ultrasound (General Medical Ultrasound) and Scrotal Ultrasound
An abdominal ultrasound (also known as a sonogram) is a non-invasive procedure where high-frequency sound waves are used to create images of the organs and structures inside the body. Ultrasound technology allows quick visualization for assessment and diagnosis and can take images of different parts of the body including the kidneys, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, bile ducts, spleen, and abdominal aorta. Scrotal ultrasound is indicated for men with subfertility, scrotal swelling, and varicicoele. Assessment of the prostate is integral part of the examination. Depending on the type of ultrasound, our friendly team will provide advice to clients on further management or referrals required.
